Callie has been in love with fashion since her days as a young girl growing up in Melbourne, Australia. Her favorite game of dress-up involved pulling out her Mum’s sixties- and seventies-era evening clothes, and modeling her favorite ensembles. She has marked important or special events in her life through the evolution of her wardrobe — from her first pair of high heels, her first ballgown, prom dress, and — of course — her wedding gown.
An appreciation for the impact fashion makes on our lives inspired Callie to study Fashion Design at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. And she loved every minute of her time there. Upon graduation, she honed her design skills in women’s and children’s wear for various Australian companies, eventually landing her a position designing wedding gowns. Callie discovered she had a special talent for creating memorable gowns, and fell in love with bridal design.
Modern Trousseau’s couture designs are the ultimate in creativity and construction. Callie loves the luxury of working with fine French and Italian laces, imported silks, and delicate beadwork, and takes great care in selecting the fabrics that bring her 2-dimensional sketches to life. When the perfect fabric cannot be located, Callie will design the intricate lace patterns and unique beadwork for production in the finest ateliers.
Nothing less than perfect is the standard Callie Tein sets for the Modern Trousseau line of bridal gowns and mother of the occasion dresses.  This originates from her belief that one’s wedding day is one of the most special days of a woman’s life, and the bride should remember herself looking and feeling gorgeous. Ultimately, a Modern Trousseau gown by Callie Tein is a one-of-a-kind, wearable works of art created to mark that very special moment when a woman becomes a bride. From Angelina Jolie to the duchess of Cambridge, Jenny Packham has become quite the favorite among celebrities worldwide as the designer of beautiful, classic fashion. She is known for her intricate beadwork and unique yet elegant designs. This world-renowned British designer has shown her collections at London, Milan, and most recently, New York fashion weeks. Packham has expanded her collections beyond bridal to include accessories, lingerie, and ready-to-wear attire.Melissa Sweet is an American fashion designer best known for her collection of bridal and bridesmaids gowns. She established her own bridal company in 1996, and began creating handmade wedding gowns in Atlanta, Georgia. Her style is distinctly modern and dreamlike, combining luxurious fabrics like silk with unique ruffling and pleating.
In 2005, Melissa Sweet merged with another popular bridal line, Priscilla of Boston. Together, the two companies expanded on their original visions of luxurious bridal gowns made of high quality materials for brides of all shapes and sizes. Both lines were carried in Priscilla of Boston boutiques across the United States until Priscilla of Boston closed the doors to their salons in early 2012.
Melissa Sweet’s bridal gowns are easily distinguishable by their dramatic sleeves and fabric embellishing. From puffed lace sleeves to large, fabric flowers, both her wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses stand out in terms of individuality and flair. Her use of vibrant color in her bridesmaids dresses, such as fire engine red and electric yellow are loved by brides wanting to have bright, vibrant dresses worn by their wedding party.
Proportion and scale are two things that Melissa Sweet’s dresses focus on. Each of her dress designs place emphasis on flattering the wearer’s figure through use of symmetry. From high-collared tea length dresses to sweeping off-the shoulder gowns, her dresses are made to flatter women of any size or shape. She has designed targeted towards women with a large bust, as well as dresses aimed towards women who are more petite.Amsale is a native of Ethiopia and was attending school in New England when her country broke out in unrest. This made it impossible for her to return home, so she stayed in the United States and took on several odd jobs to try and support herself and her financial obligations to school. Amsale admits that she did not have much money while attending school and would often design and sew her own clothes, which is what sparked her interest in fashion design.
She enrolled in New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and began her career with Harve Bernard upon graduation. It was two years after this that she launched her custom-bridal dress line and “forever modern” concept. Her idea was to bring future brides-to-be simple dresses that they could look back on twenty years later, and still be pleased with how they looked in their gown. (This is not an easy feat to achieve, as we have all gone back and looked at pictures of ourselves and can not believe half of the things we wore!)
Amsale has quickly become one of the top designers in Hollywood. She is often sought out by various producers and film makers for creating dresses for television shows and films. Her designs have been featured on television programs such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, Grey’s Anatomy, and 27 dresses, just to name a few. Her collection of bridal, evening and party dresses have become second-to-none when it comes to soft spoken sophistication with a splash of elegance.
Amsale’s Madison Avenue boutique opened its doors in September of 2001, where her fashion lines could be displayed in a gallery-like setting. The boutique was the perfect place to show off her lines which include: Amsale, Amsale Presents the Little White Dress, Kenneth Pool, and Christos. Not only are her designs featured within her self-owned boutiques, but they are also featured at Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.
